Spiritual Formation at
The Branch
The reason we exist as a church is to accept people
as Jesus has accepted us, and to nurture believers’ faith
and spiritual formation in Christ. There are many
ways to nurture faith and formation.
Since transformation is a process, it
is hard to describe exactly what it looks like. We
do know, however, what
the finished product looks like – Jesus Christ.
We also know from the Bible that with it there will
be an increase in faith, knowledge, Christian practices
and virtues.
Another sign is fruitfulness. Jesus
said "If
you abide in me, you will bear much fruit.” The
Spiritual Formation ministry exists to help believers
bear fruit, both collectively and as individuals. We
do this by developing leaders, environments, and processes
that cultivate spiritual maturity at The Branch.

Cell Groups
The heart of community and spiritual growth at The
Branch is found in cell groups, which occur in over
50 homes scattered throughout the Metroplex.
Cells provide all the critical ingredients
for spiritual growth (Word, worship, prayer, fellowship,
discipleship,
and “net” evangelism). Participants find
acceptance, encouragement, and the opportunity to grow
through the cell structure that is based on building
up believers and turning them into reproducing leaders.

Cell Leadership and Apprenticing
One of the greatest opportunities to bear fruit for the kingdom comes as we learn to disciple and shepherd other believers. The ultimate goal of discipleship
is not that we become perfect but that we learn how to disciple other people
to be able to disciple other people. We have a unique approach to leadership
development and apprenticing that helps us do this. The front lines of discipleship
and ministry opportunity are found in cell groups.
