The desire of The Branch Missions is to “seek and save the lost and to go and make disciples of all nations.” We want to facilitate the opportunity for these commands to be carried out in the individual lives of our members, recognizing that it is a mandate that includes both local and foreign missions.

CURRENT MISSION HAPPENINGS

Guinea, West Africa

Clint and M’Liss Stringer, with their children, Emma and Clara, live in Guinea, West Africa.  Missionaries with Pioneer Bible Translators, they serve the Guinea branch in the roles of administration and guest house management.  They moved to Guinea in March 2006 to begin their work.  Most missionaries with Pioneer Bible Translators are working to translate the Bible into 8 of the 39 languages spoken in Guinea.  Clint and M’Liss facilitate the translators’ work by doing many of the tasks necessary to live in Guinea. This helps the translators to be able to focus their time and energy toward translation.  In 2007, after many years of work, 4 Bible translations plan to be ready to print and distribute either all of the Bible or the New Testament.  This is an important time for Guinea.  Groups of people that currently do not have the Bible in their language will soon have access to God’s Word.

Hitachi, Japan

Judith Alexander lives in Hitachi, a city three hours north of Tokyo. She went to Japan in June of 2003, living in Hitachi-taga and working as an English teacher. She held English Bible studies and helped in the work of the local congregation (Taga Church of Christ). Feeling God’s call to devote herself to full-time missions, she made that transition entering into a 2 year period of intensive language study (Sept. 2005 - Aug. 2007).  She is praying for God’s guidance in leading her to be apart of a church planting team in Japan from the latter part of 2007.
