"Extreme Makeover" ----- Jay Register

"This past weekend Leigh Ann and I went out to ACU for homecoming events and took the youth from our group.  We have three students from our Cell Group attending ACU and they all wanted to go see them.  It was a wonderful weekend for all (and tiring to say the least).  When we were driving home, a member of our Cell Group called us and said the group would have dinner waiting for everyone at our house.  (We basically all have keys to each others houses for feeding dogs, etc. when out of town.)  So we arrived home last night and sensed something was up, but not sure.  Through some trickery, they finally got us to our bedroom and when we opened the door we were completely shocked and overwhelmed.  Our Cell Group had totally remodeled our bedroom!  I am talking paint, drapes, bedroom furniture, new bed and mattress with a beautiful comforter and pillows, art work on the wall, family pictures framed and even a small flat screen TV with a DVD player built in.  In addition, a sitting place with two chairs with a small cushioned table and lamps as a place to read, pray and just share time together.  We were just stunned.  You see, during this difficult time Leigh Ann had shared at one point how our bedroom and home has not been the haven of peace and rest to us due to a number of needed repairs and poor condition of furniture, etc.  But due to the stresses of life and lack of funds we just did not have the energy or resources to make necessary changes.  So, our Cell Group, along with Leigh Ann's parents, did it for us.  After we had taken it all in, the Cell Group gathered into the room, anointed it with oil and prayed a blessing on the room.  We felt like the people on the Extreme Makeover show after they say "Move that Bus!"  Tears of joy and thankfulness were overflowing.  Needless to say, Leigh Ann and I shared in prayers of thanksgiving to our Lord at bedtime last night.  We recognized that through our Cell Group, the Lord Himself had blessed us in such a special way.  Every good and perfect gift is from above!  Through our Cell Group, Jesus has blessed us with comfort, joy and a family that is even better than earthly brothers and sisters."
